Understanding the Audible Cues in VALORANT for Your Opponent

VALORANT Sound Guide: What can Enemies Hear in the Game?

VALORANT is a tactical first-person shooter that requires patience, aim, and stealth. Sneaking up on enemies and getting the first shot can often determine the outcome of a round. However, certain actions and interactions in VALORANT can give away your position, letting opponents hear you before you make your move. A dedicated fan of the game recently broke down all the actions that produce sound in VALORANT, providing a valuable graphic for players to reference.

Actions That Can Be Heard by Enemies

Players in VALORANT should assume that most actions make audible sounds for enemies. To remain stealthy, avoid dropping weapons or the spike, picking up Ultimate Orbs, reloading your gun, or swinging your knife. Additionally, many abilities can also be heard by the opposing team. These include Jett floating in the air, Sage’s heal, Brimstone’s Stim Beacon, and all of Cypher’s abilities.

Actions That Cannot be Heard by Enemies

While there are more actions that enemies can hear than those they can’t, there are a few actions you can safely take without alerting your adversaries. Scoping in with your weapon, swapping guns or abilities, and jumping on higher surfaces produce no sound. Additionally, picking up guns, items, or Viper’s Poison Cloud also emit no sound.

Understanding the sounds in VALORANT can give players a strategic advantage, allowing them to anticipate enemy movements and make informed decisions. Use this guide to enhance your gameplay and improve your chances of victory in VALORANT!
