Trials Persist: Who will be Yay’s replacement on Cloud9’s VALORANT team?

Cloud9 Actively Searching for Replacement on VALORANT Roster

North American organization Cloud9 is on the lookout for a new player to replace yay on their VALORANT roster and has intensified their search in recent days.

A pressing question that arose after yay’s departure was who would take his place on the team. Despite being hailed as the world’s best player last year, yay was released by Cloud9 after just five months.

In the past few days, Cloud9 has been trying out multiple players, even forming a secondary team to maximize participation. They have enlisted substitutes like qpert and BlackHeart. One player that particularly impressed is Michael “nerve” Yerrow, the former Soniqs player, according to sources from .

Other players who have either practiced with Cloud9 or are scheduled to trial include former Soniqs player Dylan “runi” Cade, former Moon Racoons player Jacob “icy” Lange, former Gen.G player Edmon “snirot” Ghanem, and former VIRTUOSO player Nathan “Blahst” Brand, as per sources.

reported that Marved was listed as one of the potential options for Cloud9, but the organization is unlikely to meet his salary demands.

Sources suggest that Cloud9 is unwilling to pay buyouts for players.

During his time with Cloud9, yay negotiated one of the highest salaries in the world, which he secured after his stint with OpTic Gaming. While he is looking to compete on a new team, finding a new home in the near future seems unlikely due to most rosters being already settled.

Cloud9 is set to participate in the Americas league, which commences on March 26.
