Iso is a unique agent in VALORANT with abilities that rely on the Radianite substance for accuracy. While he may not be the best duelist in the current meta, he can excel on specific maps.
Let’s first take a look at Iso’s strengths before revealing the VALORANT maps where he shines.

- Avoid playing Iso on these VALORANT maps
Iso is powerful on tightly-spaced VALORANT maps
Iso stands apart from other duelists like Jett and Raze. His abilities cover narrow areas effectively, making him a great choice on maps with tight spaces. It’s important to understand his niche strengths and the maps where he excels to maximize his value to the team.
When using Iso’s abilities, pay attention to the narrow blue range on the minimap. His abilities are most effective in close-quarters or narrow lanes, but struggle in wide open areas. This trait is crucial in determining the best maps for Iso.
Best VALORANT maps to play Iso
Based on Iso’s unique traits, he performs exceptionally well on the following maps:
- Bind
- Ascent
- Split
- Haven
- Sunset
Iso’s kit perfectly suits the tight spaces and narrow lanes found in Bind, Ascent, Split, Haven, and Sunset. He is a strong defender and attacker on these maps. Additionally, his Double Tap ability can provide self-protection if the player has good aim.
While not ideal, Iso can also excel as a “lurking duelist” on Sunset due to the opportunities offered in the mid-section of the map.
On these maps, Iso’s Contingency wall can be effectively used to block critical angles while peeking at other angles. For example, on Bind, you can block off the Lamps angle while pushing A site, allowing you to focus on enemies inside the site. On Ascent, you can block off Mid Market when pushing into B Site and engage enemies in Defender Spawn.
Iso’s Undercut ability is powerful for clearing out tough spaces by applying the Vulnerable effect to enemies. Many VALORANT maps have difficult areas to clear (such as Bind’s Hookah, Ascent’s site entrances, and Haven’s A Short), and Undercut is invaluable for clearing such areas.
His ultimate ability, Kill Contract, can be extremely effective when pushing sites and needing to eliminate an annoying enemy from the site or its surrounding areas.
Avoid playing Iso on these VALORANT maps
While Iso can still be played on Lotus and Breeze, I recommend avoiding picking him on these maps. His kit doesn’t provide enough coverage to be valuable when pushing or retaking sites. It’s better to choose Raze on Lotus and Jett on Breeze and focus on initiators and controllers for team composition on these maps.
