This VALORANT agent’s iconic voice line was unexpectedly taken away, and it has upset the players

VALORANT Patch 7.09: Cypher’s Ultimate Voice Line Nerfed

Riot Games’ latest update for VALORANT, Patch 7.09, made significant changes to Cypher’s traps, but it also unintentionally removed one of his beloved features.

In a recent Reddit post, a player noticed that Cypher’s ultimate voice line, “Give me a corpse!,” no longer plays when attempting to activate Neural Theft without a corpse nearby.

The community expressed disappointment, with one player stating that this change is a bigger nerf than any buff Cypher could receive.

Many players reminisced about spamming the ultimate voice line, creating a catchy tune. However, now it seems that Cypher players will no longer hear this iconic dialogue.

Oddly enough, the patch notes for VALORANT did not mention this alteration, suggesting that Riot quietly made the change.

Possible Bug or Intentional Change?

While it’s unclear if this change was deliberate, there is a chance that it could be a bug preventing the dialogue from playing. Every VALORANT ability has an alerting voice line when the player is missing a requirement, and Cypher’s Neural Theft should have one too.

It’s surprising that Riot would remove the reminder for Cypher players to have a corpse for their ultimate to activate, so it’s possible that this change was unintentional and may be reversed in the future.
