The showdown in Game Changers Championship grand finals: G2 Gozen vs. Shopify Rebellion

The North American vs. EMEA VALORANT Rivalry Takes an Unexpected Turn in Game Changers Championship Finals

The grand finals of the Game Changers Championship have brought forth an exciting twist to the anticipated North American vs. EMEA VALORANT rivalry.

Prior to the start of the double-elimination bracket, the expectation was for G2 Gozen and Cloud9 White to face off in the final series. However, the final showdown will now feature a different North American team, Shopify Rebellion, who are currently on an impressive winning streak.

Shopify Rebellion enters the finals with a wave of momentum from their lower bracket journey. In this run, they defeated the formidable X10 Sapphire team, overcame their long-time NA rivals C9, and surprisingly triumphed over Team Liquid Brazil in an upper bracket revenge match.

Diana “sonder” Zhang has been a standout performer throughout the tournament, ranking fourth in ACS and ADR among all players. In fact, three Shopify players are in the top 10 for ACS.

Their impressive run, including notable victories against C9 and Liquid, sets up an exciting clash with the dominant EMEA powerhouse, G2. Interestingly, G2’s path to the grand finals also involved victories over X10, C9, and Liquid, but they navigated the upper bracket with only one map lost to C9.

Michaela “mimi” Lintrup has had an outstanding tournament, ranking in the top three for ACS, K/D, kills per round, and assists per round. As a team, G2 is delivering exceptional VALORANT performance, with three members among the top six for kill-assist-survive-trade rating. Meanwhile, 16-year-old LAN debutant, Maryam “Mary” Maher, and Anastasia “Glance” Anisimova are exceeding expectations.

Shopify Rebellion will strive to continue their lower bracket success against G2 Gozen tomorrow, Nov. 20, at 10am CT.
