The long-standing loudness issue on Lotus resolved in VALORANT ahead of competitive debut

Lotus Adds Unrated and Competitive Queues in VALORANT

Lotus has finally joined the unrated and competitive modes in VALORANT after being exclusively available in its own queue for a week. With the launch of Episode Six, players can now enjoy the map in both unrated and competitive play. Additionally, there has been a significant audio change on the map.

In Patch 6.01, one of the map’s notable features, the two rotating doors, has undergone a volume reduction. This reduction has made the doors quieter compared to their previous sound levels during the map’s early access phase and the Lotus-exclusive queue period.

Players who had difficulty hearing teammates or opponents near the rotating doors will appreciate this small change. Initially, the door rotations could be heard across most parts of the map, with a mini-map icon signaling their usage.

The rotating doors, which can be activated by pressing a button on either side, open slowly like a rotating bookshelf in a haunted house. After a few seconds, the doors close, creating a brief window for players to pass through or shoot through the opening.

One rotating door, marked as A Door on the map, is located alongside the A Main pathway and leads to the A Tree room. Another door, called C Door, connects the B Main pathway to C Main.

The rotating doors are indestructible and can be activated an unlimited number of times. Patch 6.01 also addressed some bug fixes, preventing players from getting stuck in the doors and allowing Breach’s utility to pass through.
