The Guard dominates FaZe Clan, closing in on VALORANT Champions with one more win

The Guard Sweeps FaZe Clan and Advances to North America Last Chance Qualifier Grand Final

The Guard has shown impressive growth as a team since forming their roster in late 2021. Qualifying for Masters: Reykjavík was just the beginning for them, as they now aim for a spot in the Champions by dominating the upper bracket in an almost flawless run.

FaZe Struggles Against The Guard

FaZe, who had been improving rapidly, seemed like strong candidates to represent NA in İstanbul. However, The Guard proved to be a formidable opponent for them.

On the map pick of Haven, FaZe struggled to find their footing while The Guard capitalized on their slow start, taking an 8-4 lead into halftime. Despite only securing one additional round in the second half, FaZe couldn’t catch up and lost the first map 13-5. JonahP from The Guard had a solid performance on Chamber, while FaZe’s POISED struggled, ending Haven with a 0.17 KD and just three kills.

The Guard’s Domination Continues on Icebox

The teams then moved on to Icebox, chosen by The Guard. With a map win already secured, The Guard had the advantage and carried their momentum into this map.

Once again, FaZe had difficulty in winning gunfights and post-plant situations, giving The Guard an advantage. The Guard replicated their success from the previous map, starting the second half 8-4. Although FaZe managed to string together more rounds and reach seven, they were unable to close it out, resulting in a 13-7 victory for The Guard.
