TenZ on his experience playing with Sentinels: ‘I don’t feel pressured to make superstar plays or be a hero every round’

Tyson “TenZ” Ngo Leads Sentinels to Victory at VALORANT Champions Tour NA Masters One

Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, the 19-year-old rising star in the esports world, achieved an incredible feat by going from a last-minute substitute to a first-place finisher in the VALORANT Champions Tour NA Masters One event. In a virtual press conference, TenZ expressed his joy and satisfaction at winning the prestigious tournament.

TenZ shared his thoughts on competing with Sentinels, the winning team, stating that it was an amazing experience. He revealed that he no longer felt the need to make superstar plays and be the hero every round, as he could trust his teammates to perform their roles perfectly.

TenZ expressed his competitive drive and his desire to become a professional player. He mentioned that playing with Sentinels allowed him to focus on playing his role without feeling the pressure to constantly make flashy plays. This was a different experience for TenZ compared to his time with Cloud9, where he sometimes felt obligated to be the standout player on the team.

Cloud9 had a challenging year in 2020, failing to qualify for the First Strike main event despite having one of the best players in North America. Following these struggles, TenZ decided to step down from the VALORANT roster and pursue content creation. However, when Jay “Sinatraa” Won, a member of Sentinels, was suspended due to serious allegations, TenZ was called upon to fill his shoes. And he certainly delivered.

Despite having no time to practice as a team, the new Sentinels lineup, with TenZ as a key player, emerged victorious against tough opponents like Luminosity, 100 Thieves, and FaZe Clan. Throughout the entire event, they lost only one map, which happened in their first series with TenZ against Luminosity on Split. TenZ showcased his exceptional skills by leading Sentinels with 201 frags, followed closely by Hunter “SicK” Mims with 177 kills.

TenZ, formerly a CS:GO player, is now a skilled VALORANT player representing Sentinels. Check out the gaming gear he uses to compete at the highest level.

With their victory at Masters One, Sentinels have established themselves as the leading team in North America. Although there’s a possibility that TenZ may join the team permanently, no confirmation has been made yet.

If there’s one thing that’s evident, it’s that TenZ has a deep passion for winning.
