TenZ expected to participate in VCT Americas match despite hand injury, while Sentinels’ star substitute remains unavailable

Sentinels Star TenZ Playing Through Pain in VCT Americas

Sentinels will be looking for a strong comeback in VCT Americas after a heavy defeat by NRG last week. However, their superstar player, Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, will be competing with an injury as the organization deals with issues surrounding their sixth man.

Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, a star player for Sentinels, reportedly has a “joint infection” on his left index finger, as revealed by his fiancé and 100 Thieves streamer Kyedae. During Tarik’s co-stream of VCT Americas on Saturday, Kyedae informed Tarik about TenZ’s condition.

TenZ also shared an image of the infection on his Instagram story with the caption, “wtf happened to my finger.” The image shows significant swelling in the joint of his left index finger. Although the swelling is not on his dominant shooting hand, playing with an infection is likely to be irritating for him.

Due to issues with Sentinels’ sixth-man role, TenZ will have to play through the pain. Former OpTic star Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen previously filled the role in March but is unable to travel to Los Angeles in time due to visa complications. Marved was brought in to replace Hunter “SicK” Mims, who was arrested and jailed for criminal trespassing in March. SicK has since been released but is currently under suspension by Sentinels and must undergo training.

For Sentinels, the upcoming match against Leviatán is already challenging. Both teams have 1-1 records and are looking to recover from their losses in week two.
