Team Heretics introduces fresh, youthful lineup for VCT 2024 roster overhaul

Team Heretics Announces New Roster for 2024 VALORANT Season

Team Heretics has revealed its official roster for the upcoming 2024 VCT season. The team is focused on transforming its experienced lineup from 2023 into an exciting team filled with talented European players.

The new roster includes the Lukaševičius brothers, Ričardas “Boo” and Dominykas “MiniBoo,” who are determined to leave their mark in tier-one VALORANT. They will be joined by Benjy “benjyfishy” Fish from VCL East, and two promising Turkish players, Enes “RieNs” Ecirli, and Mert “Wo0t” Alkan.

Heretics acknowledges the change in its roster plan with a reveal video, which features Óscar “mixwell” Cañellas’ retirement announcement. Benjyfishy introduces each new teammate in the video, culminating in his departure to Berlin for training with the new roster. The video does not mention Wassim “keloqz” Cista, who Heretics has yet to release, but it emphasizes the new 2024 roster as “Los Niños” and “the kids dynasty.”

Compared to the aging core of 2023, the nickname “the kids” suits this roster well. At 25 years old, Boo is the oldest player, while the rest of the players are 19 or younger and lack tier-one experience. However, the team has generated a lot of hype.

Benjyfishy was named Rookie of the Season for East: Surge Split One, while MiniBoo earned Season MVP in Spain: Rising Split Two, both in 2023. RieNs played a vital role in the Turkish roster that reached the finals in the Turkish Splits, winning one championship. Although Wo0t did not have the same level of team success, he became the Regular Season MVP in the first Turkish Split of 2023.

Not only do these players have great potential, but they also complement each other in terms of roles. Here are the potential roles for the Heretics roster in 2024:

  • Boo (Controller, IGL)
  • MiniBoo (Duelist)
  • Wo0t (Flex)
  • RieNs (Initiator)
  • benjyfishy (Sentinel)

While this is a theoretical starting roster, each player brings significant experience to their respective roles. For example, MiniBoo has excelled as Jett and Raze, while ReiNs has shown prowess on Breach and Sova. Adapting to a new roster will take time, but the chemistry between the two Lithuanian brothers provides a strong foundation. Mixed rosters have proven successful in EMEA VALORANT, as demonstrated by Fnatic’s achievements.

This Heretics roster has the potential to be a dark horse in 2024 and beyond, given the right support and circumstances.
