Tarik’s VCT LOCK//IN co-stream dominates VALORANT Twitch channel

Co-streaming Continues to Dominate VALORANT Esports Viewership at VCT LOCK//IN 2023

Co-streaming has been a reliable and dominant part of VALORANT esports viewership. As the scene enters the partnership era with the VCT LOCK//IN event, this trend shows no signs of slowing down.

Halfway through the tournament, the most-watched hours of the event have not been on the official VALORANT channel on Twitch. Instead, Sentinels content creator Tarik’s co-stream has taken the lead.

Stats of the first 6 days of #VCTLOCKIN 2023 Sao Paulo.
Most watched channels of the event:
1. @tarik
2. @PlayVALORANT
3. @valesports_br

According to Esports Charts, Tarik has accumulated 2.81 million hours watched, surpassing the official VALORANT channel’s 2.47 million hours. The main Brazilian VALORANT channel follows behind with 898,000 hours.

All three channels, along with others streaming the event on Twitch or YouTube, experienced great success during the final round of the Alpha bracket. The match between NRG and LOUD attracted over 852,000 peak viewers, more than double the average viewership of approximately 376,000 for the tournament.

Co-streaming has been a significant driver for VALORANT esports viewership for the past two years, with Tarik leading the charge. Even before VCT LOCK//IN, Tarik and team owner Disguised Toast hosted co-streams of the NA VALORANT Challengers league, which garnered higher watch times than the official streams.

While Tarik primarily has a North American audience, the presence of only two NA teams in the Omega bracket (compared to three in the Alpha bracket) may impact his position as the top streamer. However, the opening match between Fnatic and Sentinels is expected to be a viewership goldmine for Tarik, the official channels, and other streamers.
