Talented Free Agent Emerges as Top Controller Player in VALORANT

Former OpTic VALORANT Player Marved Enters Free Agency

Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, a former player for OpTic VALORANT, announced on Twitter that he has parted ways with the organization and entered free agency. He expressed his determination to come back stronger than ever.

OpTic Gaming Releases Final Player Following Failed Partnership

Marved is the last player to be released from OpTic Gaming after the organization’s unsuccessful attempt to secure a partnership with Riot Games for the Americas international league in the upcoming year.

Marved gained recognition as one of the top controller players in the world due to his outstanding performances with OpTic both internationally and regionally. Unfortunately, his journey with OpTic concluded with a defeat to Brazilian rivals LOUD in the grand finals of the VALORANT Champions tournament.

After the disappointing loss at Champions, OpTic’s future became uncertain when they were denied a partnership slot, despite being the strongest team in North America at the time. While OpTic was overlooked, other organizations like NRG, Cloud9, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, and Sentinels seized the opportunity to partner with Riot.

Notable organizations such as TSM, G2, and FaZe also failed to secure a slot.

In the aftermath of the roster shake-up, Marved’s former teammates Austin “crashies” Roberts, Victor Wong, and in-game leader Pujan “FNS” Mehta joined NRG along with coach Chet Singh. Marved, however, remained as the only player without a transfer to another team.

Marved is yet to announce his next move. It remains unclear whether he will compete in Challengers, join a partnered team as a sixth player, or explore other opportunities.
