T1 Parts Ways with Brax and AZK from VALORANT Roster

T1’s VALORANT Team Parts Ways with Brax and AZK

T1 has announced that it is parting ways with Braxton “brax” Pierce and Keven “AZK” Larivière, members of its VALORANT team.

Rumors and Official Announcement

Rumors started circulating when Timothy “autimatic” Ta was revealed to be joining the roster last week. T1 confirmed the news by stating that they were “allowing brax to pursue other opportunities” and that AZK would be a valuable addition to any team he joins.

Brax’s Background and Team Transition

Brax joined T1 in March 2020 as the first player on their VALORANT roster. He is known for his competitive career in CS:GO but faced consequences for his involvement in the iBUYPOWER match-fixing scandal in 2013, which led to him being prevented from competing in a Major championship.

After signing with T1, the organization also acquired his former iBUYPOWER teammate, AZK. Later, they added Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, Sam “DaZeD” Marine, and Ha “Spyder” Jung-woo, who is a former Overwatch professional.

Team Achievements and Future Prospects

Together, the T1 roster qualified for the First Strike main event, but they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by eventual champions, 100 Thieves. In their last match together, they narrowly missed qualifying for the first NA Challengers event, losing 2-1 to AndBox.

The addition of autimatic to the team gives the former iBUYPOWER roster a second chance at success in VALORANT. Finding the perfect fifth player to complement a star player from CS:GO, who is still in his prime, will be critical to T1’s future success.
