T1 Fails to Advance in VCT following Defeat against VIRTUOSO

T1’s VALORANT Champions Tour Run Ends with Loss to VIRTUOSO

T1’s journey in the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour has come to an early end with a 0-2 loss to VIRTUOSO in the lower bracket of the VCT Stage Two Open Qualifiers.

A New Roster and Hope for Success

Despite a new roster and high hopes for success in 2022, T1 failed to deliver. After not qualifying for the main event of Stage One, the team struggled to perform in tier two tournaments. Their lack of circuit points meant that their only chance of progressing in VCT was through the second main event.

A Disappointing Loss in the Open Qualifier

T1 faced an early setback with a loss to Soniqs, which demoted them to the lower bracket. While they managed to defeat Team Reckaroo, they couldn’t replicate their success against VIRTUOSO and suffered another 2-0 loss, ultimately ending their run in the open qualifier.

T1’s Outlook for the Future

Not only does T1’s lack of circuit points prevent them from participating in the Masters, but it also excludes them from the Last Chance Qualifier later in the year. T1 will have to wait until 2023 for another chance to compete in VCT and will focus on participating in tier two tournaments for the remainder of the year.

Disappointment from T1’s Josh “Steel” Nissan

T1’s Josh “Steel” Nissan expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance on Twitter, stating, “0-2 vs virtuoso and we’re out. This isn’t even remotely good enough nor a proper reflection of what I’m capable of. Very disappointing start and finish of the VCT year.”

The VCT Stage Two Open Qualifier 2 is ongoing, with the last four teams in North America vying for qualification to the VCT Challengers Main Event.
