Sypher’s long-awaited revenge unfolds in a side-splitting VALORANT April Fools’ game mode that we all wished was real

Riot Games Releases New VALORANT Cinematic featuring Cypher’s Revenge

After constantly meeting his demise in major cinematic appearances, Cypher is ready to seek revenge in a new (not real) game mode in VALORANT.

Riot Games has unveiled an April Fools’ cinematic for VALORANT, showcasing Cypher taking control for the first time ever. This continues the ongoing joke of Cypher always being killed off in official media. The cinematic presents a new game mode called “Cypher’s Revenge,” where a full team of players attempts to eliminate a dramatically enhanced Cypher with unique abilities. However, this game mode will not actually be added to the game.

In the cinematic, Cypher possesses the ability to stun enemies who have been tagged by his cameras, similar to being trapped in Killjoy’s ultimate. He can also arm his cameras with weapons. His shroud duplicates him, and his tripwires duplicate themselves when placed. Furthermore, the developers have allowed him to enter terrain and become untargetable, while still maintaining access to his enemies.

Although the cinematic depicts game mode and Cypher characteristics that will not be introduced in VALORANT, Riot is rewarding players with a free spray if they log in before April 6. The spray features Cypher being targeted by all other agents in the game, symbolizing his impending fate.

While players cannot play the “Cypher’s Revenge” game mode, they can still enjoy the ongoing joke within the VALORANT community of targeting Cypher.
