Strange bug in VALORANT disrupts Iso’s ultimate ability, but reproducing it is highly unlikely

The Strange Bug in VALORANT: What Happens When Two Iso Ult at the Same Time

In the popular game VALORANT, one of the characters, Iso, has a unique ultimate ability that creates an interdimensional arena and pulls in the first enemy hit for a one-on-one gunfight. It sounds simple enough, but have you ever wondered what would happen if two Iso players activated their ultimate ability on each other at the same time?

A video clip posted on Reddit by a player named u/BreakawayMeteor showcases a rather strange outcome of two Iso ultimates overlapping. If the timing is right, the Iso players can end up getting pulled into a blank arena and then die.

In the video, BreakawayMeteor, playing as Iso, tries to use their Kill Contract ultimate on the enemy Iso located in Bind’s A Short area. However, they are met with a counter ultimate. Everything seems fine until the shields drop, and neither player sees anyone to fight against. Strangely, when BreakawayMeteor dies after the ultimate’s timer expires, the same thing happens to the enemy Iso, indicating that both players were pulled into a blank ult and had no one to kill.

In a comment in the Reddit thread, BreakawayMeteor offers a possible explanation: “I think the enemy Iso ulted our Chamber and I ulted the Iso. In the end, none of them saw each other lmao.” This hypothesis makes sense since Chamber should have been the first enemy hit for the enemy Iso’s Kill Contract, as shown in the video.

While this bug in VALORANT may sound hilarious, it is also incredibly difficult (and pointless) to recreate. However, it does indicate an anomaly in the game logic. The code cannot determine how to build two arenas when there are only three players involved, so it pulls both Iso players into blank ultimates.

Some players blame this occurrence on VALORANT’s server tick rate system, suggesting that it allowed the overlapping to happen due to a delay on the enemy’s side. However, since there is no official explanation, it might be best not to worry too much about it.

The bug may be rare, but it is definitely confusing and seems a bit unfair. Now that it has been brought to light, Riot Games should find ways to eliminate it, especially before Iso becomes a part of VALORANT’s professional play meta. No one wants to see this bug happen during an esports match.
