Steel becomes in-game leader for T1’s VALORANT team

T1 Signs Joshua “steel” Nissan for VALORANT Roster

T1 has announced the addition of Joshua “steel” Nissan to their VALORANT roster, according to a recent statement. Steel, a former CS:GO veteran who joined 100 Thieves in September 2020, played a vital role in the team’s early achievements, including winning North America First Strike, as well as qualifying for the first Masters event in Stage One of the VALORANT Champions Tour. Despite not winning any major events since then, 100 Thieves remains one of the top teams in the region.

Steel Finds a New Home with T1

After a disappointing top-four finish at VCT Masters Berlin, Steel was removed from 100 Thieves’ active roster just before the Last Chance Qualifier. While the organization didn’t disclose Steel’s next destination at the time, they recently revealed that he has been transferred to T1. In an announcement video, T1’s head coach David Denis warmly welcomed Steel and commended his impressive record as an in-game leader.

Strong Leadership for T1

“Josh has a really impressive record as an IGL,” said Denis. “We really wanted a strong leader, a strong voice, someone that could bring a lot of direction to the team.” Steel, in the same video, expressed his dedication to preparing T1 for the upcoming 2022 VCT season and ensuring they qualify for next year’s Champions event. Currently sitting at 14th place in North America, T1 will benefit greatly from Steel’s addition and leadership.
