Stand-in player Jammyz joins Kansas City Pioneers, sources say

Kansas City Pioneers to Play with Jammyz as Temporary Stand-in in NA VCT Stage Three: Challengers Two

The Kansas City Pioneers have made a roster change for the upcoming NA VCT Stage Three: Challengers Two main event. Due to health issues, Jason “jmoh” Mohandessi will be temporarily replaced by Jamal “jammyz” Bangash during the first few days of the tournament.

Jammyz has been on the sidelines since May when he filled in for Maxim “wippie” Shepelev on Version1 during the VCT Masters Two Reykjavik. According to a report by George Geddes from Upcomer, jmoh was admitted to the hospital on July 27 due to an ear infection. Although he has stated that he has recovered slightly, he is unlikely to be fit to play in the initial matches of the event.

This news is a significant blow to the Pioneers, who were already considered dark horses in the tournament. Playing with a stand-in during an event where four teams will qualify for the Challengers playoffs puts them at a disadvantage.

Pioneers’ Schedule and Challengers Playoffs

The Pioneers are scheduled to face Luminosity Gaming in the first round of the NA VCT Stage Three: Challengers Two main event on Thursday at 4:30pm CT. If they win, they will then face either Rise or FaZe Clan in the second round. Out of the eight participating teams, only four will advance to the Challengers Playoffs, where they will compete against Sentinels, XSET, Envy, and 100 Thieves.
