Sources: Sentinels explore VALORANT coaching options after Rawkus leaves

Sentinels Practice with New Coaches for Valorant Team

North American organization Sentinels has been working with different coaches for their Valorant team following the departure of Shane “Rawkus” Flaherty, according to sources. The most recent coach they have practiced with is Overwatch player Luis “iRemiix” Galarza Figueroa.

Although Sentinels have yet to sign a new coach for their roster, it is likely that they will do so after a successful trial period.

Rawkus was released by Sentinels on February 26 after his loan expired. Although he signed with FaZe Clan, the organization did not officially release him, so he still credits FaZe on his social media accounts despite no longer being a part of the team.

Sentinels and FaZe were unable to come to an agreement regarding Rawkus’ buyout, so he remains with FaZe at the time of writing.

In a statement on Twitter, Rawkus mentioned that he is contractually obligated to change his social media accounts back to FaZe, but neither party has any intention of him rejoining the team.

Sentinels are currently participating in the Riot Games-hosted Valorant Champions Tour Stage One Challengers. They currently hold second place in Group B with a 3-1 record. The only team that has not suffered a loss so far is Version1.

On March 12, Sentinels will face off against Version1 in the final week of the regular season. Both teams have already secured qualification for the playoffs, which are set to begin on March 17.

The top two teams in the playoffs will earn a spot at the first Masters event of the year, which will take place in April.
