Solo or Group: Evaluating your Competitive VALORANT Results

Which is Better for Ranked VALORANT: Solo Queue or Team Stack?

When preparing to play ranked VALORANT, many players wonder whether it’s best to find teammates or go solo. Both options have their pros and cons, but did you know there’s a way to determine which approach is more effective?

Checking Your Competitive VALORANT Results by Party Size

You can use Tracker.gg, a popular site for tracking personal stats and rank rating gains, to see your specific K/D, win ratio, and average scoreboard placement for solo queue, duo, trio, and five-stack party sizes.

To find this information:

  1. Visit Tracker.gg and log in with your Riot account connected. Then go to the VALORANT section.
  2. Click on your profile button (the big red button with your VALORANT in-game name).
  3. Select the Matches tab and choose Competitive. You’ll need to select a specific act to view the data.
  4. Under the Teammates section, click on View Details.

This will open a Teammates window on the right-hand side, displaying your party size breakdown at the top. Below that, you’ll see a list of all your teammates, sorted by the number of games played with them, showing their K/D, win rate, and average scoreboard placement.

Choosing Between Solo Queue and Team Stack

Don’t rely solely on the numbers to make your decision.

If you’re focused on improving your rank rating, playing in a dedicated five-stack with good communication is ideal. However, if your team isn’t interested in playing competitively, solo queue might be the better option. While it can be a risk playing with random players, most solo queue players are serious about winning. There is a chance of encountering smurfs or throwers, but the majority of solo players care about the outcome.

Remember, solo queue can feel like punishment at times, but the good games are incredibly rewarding and restore faith in random VALORANT players. If you have a committed and skilled five-stack, it’s best to stick with them to increase your chances of ranking up.
