Significant Ares adjustments arrive with VALORANT Patch 4.01, addressing player demands

VALORANT Patch 4.01: Ares Adjustments to Balance the Game

In the latest update, Patch 4.01, VALORANT has addressed the issue of the overpowered Ares. The Ares received a significant buff in Patch 4.0, which led to it becoming the weapon of choice in second round buys or force rounds. However, this created an imbalance in the game.

One of the key changes in Patch 4.01 is the increase in the cost of the Ares to 1,600 credits. Riot has also made adjustments to its recoil, spread, and recoil reductions while crouching. These changes are aimed at bringing balance to the game without completely nerfing the Ares.

While the Ares will still be a popular choice in certain situations, the hope is that these adjustments will help move the game past the dominance of the Ares meta. Patch 4.01 also includes updates to melee mechanics, a muted word list to improve chat experience, and fixes for various minor bugs and issues.
