Gambit Esports Player Sheydos Secures Incredible Ace Against Acend in VCT Stage Three EMEA Challengers Playoffs
Gambit Esports’ Bogdan “Sheydos” Naumov delivered an outstanding performance in the lower final of the VCT Stage Three EMEA Challengers Playoffs. Although both teams had already qualified for Masters Three Berlin, they battled it out for the playoffs title.
In the first map, Ascent, Gambit seized an 18-16 victory in a hard-fought match to set the tone for the series. During the game on Bind, while the entire Gambit team played well, it was Sheydos who stood out with an extraordinary ace in round nine.
Acend launched an attack on the B site, eliminating two opponents along the way. They were close to securing the site when Sheydos single-handedly turned the tide. He swiftly eliminated four enemies in succession: an enemy Sage who appeared from behind a doorway, a flanking Brimstone, an opposing Raze perched on top of a container, and finally, Acend’s Skye with a headshot. He even prevented Acend’s Vladyslav “Kiles” Shvets from clutching the round, securing the ace for himself.
Although Acend managed to win just four rounds on Bind, they bounced back with a victory on Breeze. However, Gambit closed out the series with a win on Haven, earning their spot in the EMEA Challengers Playoffs grand finals against SuperMassive Blaze. Unfortunately, Acend’s journey in the Challengers Playoffs came to an end. Both Gambit and Acend will advance to Masters Three Berlin, where Acend may have a chance for revenge.
Gambit Esports will face SuperMassive Blaze in the grand finals tomorrow at 8am CT.
