Sentinels’ VALORANT standout Sacy refutes retirement speculations

Sentinel’s VALORANT Roster Faces Challenges, But Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi Denies Retirement Rumors

This year has been tough for the Sentinels’ VALORANT roster, but one of their offseason acquisitions, Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi, is not letting the pressure get to him. He is putting down the rumors about early retirement.

During a recent stream, Sacy responded to fans asking about a claim made by Brazilian VALORANT influencer Noyn. Noyn had stated on May 9 that Sacy “will retire at the end of the year” and suggested that teammate Bryan “pANcada” Luna could join MIBR after the season.

Sacy definitively denied the retirement rumors, stating, “Who said I’m going to retire? Man, I don’t have a week of peace. Noyn said I’ll retire? Oh my god, I can’t catch a break. I won’t retire, guys. This is a difficult moment, but I went through worse before.”

The Sentinels have faced challenges in the 2023 season. After an early exit at VCT LOCK//IN, they had a 1-2 record in the first three weeks of VCT Americas. Both Sacy and pANcada were dealing with significant role changes. The organization also made changes by releasing coach Syyko after their second loss and having TenZ go in and out of the roster.

The team has lost their last two matches in a one-sided fashion, leading to the decision to bring TenZ back into the starting roster, replacing in-game leader dephh. To make the playoffs, the Sentinels will need to win their next two matches and hope that both Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves lose their next two matches as well.

Sentinels will be competing against KRÜ Esports on Sunday, May 14.
