Sentinels’ Potential Signing of TenZ for VCT 2024 Remains Uncertain

Sentinels Retains Star Player TenZ for Another VALORANT Champions Tour Season

The annual off-season for the VALORANT Champions Tour has arrived, and with it comes the flurry of team roster changes. Sentinels, one of the biggest names in the game, has announced that their star player Tyson “TenZ” Ngo will be staying with the team for the 2024 VCT season, according to a tweet from the organization.

TenZ was initially signed by Sentinels only until the end of the 2023 season, unlike most of the core roster members who have contracts for another 12 months.

The announcement video features Sentinels content creator Tarik “tarik” Çelik pitching a business idea to a panel of judges from “Shark Tank.” Initially, the judges reject the proposal until TenZ is brought out, which changes their opinions.

While the video itself doesn’t explicitly confirm TenZ’s contract for 2024, the tweet’s text states that “he’s here to stay.” The announcement is being perceived as confirmation by the VALORANT Competitive community.

The video seems to humorously address Sentinels’ financial struggles and acknowledge TenZ as one of their most valuable assets. As one of the most mechanically skilled players in VALORANT, TenZ remains a top name in the scene, despite Sentinels’ underwhelming performance in the 2023 VCT season.

The last international appearance for Sentinels was in January at the LOCK//IN tournament in São Paulo, Brazil. The team didn’t qualify for Masters Tokyo and Champions in Los Angeles, but TenZ attended the finals as a spectator and even appeared on the broadcast.

No other roster moves have been announced by Sentinels yet, but the contract of another notable player, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, is also expiring this year.

During the off-season, VCT teams in the U.S. and around the world will be working on lineup changes and roster adjustments ahead of the February 2024 season launch.
