Sentinels and Immortals to Face Off in VALORANT VCT NA Challengers 1 Grand Finals
The Sentinels have made an impressive run through the lower bracket of the VALORANT VCT NA Challengers 1: Closed Qualifier, securing their spot in the grand finals.
They will be up against Immortals, who earned their spot in the grand finals by defeating Luminosity in the upper-bracket finals.
Sentinels were knocked down to the lower bracket by Luminosity in the quarterfinals, but they came back strong. They defeated Andbox 2-0, Gen.G 2-1, and XSET 2-0 to set up a rematch with Luminosity. In a thrilling series, Sentinels emerged victorious with a 2-1 scoreline.
Immortals had a smoother path to the grand finals. They sent XSET to the lower bracket in the quarterfinals and Gen.G in the semifinals. They then faced Luminosity in the upper-bracket finals, defeating them 2-1.
Regardless of the outcome in the grand finals, Sentinels, Immortals, XSET, and Luminosity have all secured their spots in the upcoming VCT Challengers 2: Closed Qualifier. If they perform well in Challengers 2, they will qualify for the highly competitive region-locked VALORANT Masters tournament, which is a stepping stone towards the ultimate tournament, the Champions event, similar to Riot Games’ World Championship in League of Legends.
Sentinels are considered to be one of the top teams in the NA VALORANT scene. They had a strong performance in the First Strike NA tournament, reaching the semifinals. They also emerged victorious in the Pop Flash and JBL Quantum Cup events.
Immortals may be seen as underdogs compared to their opponents, but they are quickly proving themselves. With new additions Rhett “Kehmicals” Lynch and Nicholas “NaturE” Garrison, their fresh lineup has yet to lose a tournament. They achieved a solid 3-1 victory against Envy in the grand finals of the Open Qualifier portion of Challengers 1, and have maintained an unbeaten record in the Closed Qualifier.
