Sean Gares and DDK join 100 Thieves’ VALORANT coaching staff

100 Thieves Adds Sean Gares as New Head Coach and Daniel “DDK” Kapadia as General Manager

Esports organization 100 Thieves has made changes to its VALORANT coaching staff by appointing Sean Gares as the new head coach and bringing in Daniel “DDK” Kapadia as the team’s general manager.

In 2022, 100 Thieves faced difficulties in the VALORANT scene after failing to qualify for Masters One in Reykjavík, Iceland, and not achieving success in tier-two tournaments. To address these challenges, the organization replaced Adam “ec1s” Eccles and Hunter “BabyJ” Schline with Sean “bang” Bezerra and Noah “jcStani” Smith. Now, 100T is taking further steps to improve in VALORANT by hiring a general manager and a new head coach.

Sean Gares and DDK recently announced their transition away from commentating to pursue new opportunities in VALORANT. As reported by Geroge Geddes and Max Katz, 100 Thieves has appointed DDK as the team’s general manager and brought in Sean Gares to assist the team. Additionally, the team will be adding Michael “Mikes” Hockom, a former Envy coach, as an assistant coach to Sean Gares.

Earlier, 100 Thieves withdrew from the Knights Monthly Gauntlet to focus on improving their gameplay as a team. It is now revealed that these changes in coaching staff were part of their effort to maximize the team’s potential.

“2022 did not start the way that we wanted, but I promise you winning has always been our priority,” said Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, CEO of 100 Thieves, in DDK and Sean Gares’ announcement video. “We’re here, 100 Thieves is not going anywhere in VALORANT, and I promise you we will get better.”
