Scump ventures into new streaming prospects post-professional Call of Duty retirement

Seth “Scump” Abner Explores New Games After Retiring from Call of Duty

Following his retirement from professional Call of Duty, Seth “Scump” Abner has begun exploring games outside of his usual repertoire. Although he had some reservations, Scump recently announced a partnered stream with OpTic founder Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez to reveal a new Halo Infinite map created in-game.

Expanding into Halo and Valorant

Scump isn’t the only former OpTic CoD player to try his hand at Halo. His teammate Matthew “FormaL” Piper also switched to Halo and even won a world championship. Additionally, Scump expressed interest in playing Valorant during a recent stream. However, he admitted feeling unsure if people would watch him play since he’s primarily known for CoD. Despite this, Scump acknowledged that he needs to overcome his fear of branching out and trying new games.

Support from Nadeshot and Future Content Opportunities

In response to Scump’s concerns about playing Valorant, his former teammate and 100T founder, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, encouraged him to give it a try. Nadeshot assured Scump that viewership would gradually increase and compared him to popular streamers like Shroud. Despite declining player base and content interest in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, Nadeshot found Scump’s retirement timing to be “bizarre.” However, Scump still has ample opportunities to create successful CoD content, as his watch party stream during online qualifier matches after retirement outperformed the official CDL stream.
