VALORANT Patch 1.01 Nerfs Sage’s Control Ability
Attention Sage players! Your favorite agent is receiving another nerf in the latest VALORANT Patch 1.01. This time, her Barrier Orb is getting a cast range decrease to limit her control over areas she is not present in.
Riot Games explains in the official patch notes that the previous 20-meter cast range allowed Sage to aggressively dominate neutral territory, which was deemed inappropriate for her role in VALORANT. The reduction in range aims to maintain her defensive strength while decreasing her effectiveness in seizing ground.
Spike Rush Mode and Performance Updates
Aside from Sage’s nerf, Patch 1.01 also introduces changes to the Spike Rush game mode. Players can now encounter a set of randomly selected orbs, including three new types. One of these orbs, the Golden Gun, grants a player a one-shot, highly accurate gun with limited ammo.
Additionally, Riot has made performance updates to enhance the game’s smoothness on mid to high spec computers. While lower spec computers may experience some impact during intense combat situations, overall performance should improve.
Bug Fixes
As with every patch, a number of bug fixes are implemented. Notably, the Cypher trick using the Spycam to see under the entire map on Bind has been resolved.
Stay tuned for more updates and changes in the world of VALORANT!
