Rising to the Top: Alfajer of Fnatic Emerges as One of Europe’s Finest VALORANT Players Despite BIG and Acend’s Rejections

Fnatic’s Rising Star: Alfajer

Emir “Alfajer” Ali Beder, Fnatic’s sentinel and duelist, drew inspiration from his father’s love for horse racing when choosing his nickname. His remarkable performance in the VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA Stage Two Challengers group stage is propelling him towards becoming one of the top players in his rookie year.

Starting his career with Surreal in 2021, Alfajer showcased his skills in Turkey, consistently leading the scoreboards and earning recognition as one of the best performers in the VCT Stage One EMEA Promotion. Despite being turned down by BIG and Acend during the offseason, he found his home with Fnatic.

In an interview with , Alfajer expressed his initial disappointment when both BIG and Acend declined his offer. However, he was determined to prove himself, and now, with Fnatic, he has played three flawless games in the VCT Stage Two EMEA, defeating FunPlus Phoenix, OG LDN UTD, and Acend.

Boasting the highest average combat score in Europe, Alfajer, alongside Fnatic teammate James “Mistic” Orfila, is making their mark in the VALORANT scene. With a playstyle inspired by idols Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom and Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş, Alfajer’s offensive approach sets him apart.

Known for his aggressive gameplay on Killjoy, Alfajer has proven his versatility by taking on the duelist role when needed, thanks to Derke’s presence as an exceptional Chamber player. This dynamic duo has elevated Fnatic to being one of the region’s top teams.

With their eyes set on VCT Masters in Copenhagen, Fnatic aims to secure one of the three available slots for EMEA teams in the playoffs. As a young talent, Alfajer will play a crucial role in driving the team’s consistency and success, similar to a jockey carrying their team to victory.
