VALORANT Introduces New Agent Recruitment System in Episode Seven
In an effort to simplify the process of unlocking new agents in VALORANT, a new progression system will be introduced in Episode Seven. This system will feature “agent recruitment events” that will automatically activate for all players when a new agent is released.
How to Unlock New Agents
Previously, players had to activate agent contracts and earn enough XP to progress those contracts to level five in order to unlock new agents. They also had the option to buy out levels with VALORANT points or connect their Xbox account with an active Game Pass subscription to gain access to all agents.
However, in Episode Seven, the agent recruitment event will simplify the process. Players will receive a free event pass on the day the new agent is released, and they will unlock the agent after reaching a certain amount of XP. Please note that the 200,000 XP shown in the Riot video may just be an example.
Other Methods of Unlocking Agents
In addition to the agent recruitment event, players still have other options for unlocking new agents. They can purchase access outright for 1,000 VALORANT points, or if they have an active Game Pass subscription, they will immediately gain access to all new agents.
For players who prefer not to spend money, there will be the option to use new currency called Kingdom Credits to unlock new agents. Players will also have the opportunity to unlock older agents using either Kingdom Credits or VP.
Agent Contracts
Agent contracts will still be available in the game for players to unlock different agent items.
Release Date for New Agent
Although an official release date for the new “lethal” sentinel agent has not been announced, it is expected to launch alongside Episode Seven, which is projected to go live around June 27.
