Riot to Unveil New VALORANT Map in Champions Grand Final Pre-Show

VALORANT Map Pool Set to Change with the Addition of New Map

A new map is set to join the active VALORANT map pool, and its official debut will take place just before the Champions 2023 final. According to an announcement by Riot Games, the new map will be revealed during the “Champions Gold Carpet pre-show” on Saturday, Aug. 26.

During the pre-show on Aug. 25 and 26, viewers can also expect a sneak peek of what’s to come in Episode Seven, Act Two, around 12:30pm CT.

Long-Awaited Map Finally Revealed

Players have been eagerly awaiting the reveal of the new map, and they won’t be disappointed. The hints and clues that have been released suggest that the new map will have an L.A.-like setting, which will be a familiar sight for local fans in attendance at the Champions event in Los Angeles.

Multiple VALORANT influencers and leak accounts have already leaked the supposed name of the map: Sunset. However, aside from the setting, there is limited information available about the map’s specific features. In the past, VALORANT has introduced new maps with unique features, such as a three-site layout and a rotating door gimmick.

Map Rotation and Seven-Map Pool

With the addition of the new map, Pearl and Fracture will be rotated out of the active map pool at the start of the next act. In their place, the revamped Breeze and the tentatively-named Sunset will be introduced. Riot Games plans to maintain a seven-map pool for the time being, with the possibility of rotating maps like Bind and Split in the future.

Exciting changes are on the horizon for the VALORANT map pool, and fans can’t wait to explore the new battlegrounds.
