Riot takes action against its first cheaters in VALORANT

First Cheaters in VALORANT Banned During Closed Beta

Just a few days into the closed beta of VALORANT, the first cheaters have already been banned. Streamer and content creator phantasy shared a video clip on Twitter today, showing a player using wallhacks and aim hacks.

Riot Games programmer and anti-cheat lead, Paul Chamberlain, confirmed the ban of the first cheater today and warned that more bans will likely follow soon.

The discovery of cheaters in VALORANT so early in the closed beta is disheartening, especially considering Riot’s efforts to prevent wallhack tampering. Riot has been confident in their anti-cheat measures, even claiming that wallhacks would be nearly impossible.

VALORANT incorporates a fog-of-war system that prevents wallhackers from accessing data and cheating. This system ensures that players cannot see play locations until they are within their line of sight. However, hackers have already exposed flaws in this system.

In addition to the fog-of-war system, Riot has introduced a new anti-cheat system called Vanguard. This detection tool will constantly evolve to detect tampering and instantly ban cheaters.

The battle against hackers in VALORANT is just beginning, and Riot must effectively combat cheating to preserve the integrity of the game.
