Riot issues warning to Paper Rex for disrespectful behavior during VALORANT Champions 2023 match

Paper Rex Receives Warning from Riot Games for Teabagging Evil Geniuses in VALORANT Champions 2023

Paper Rex, the winners of VALORANT Champions 2023, gave Evil Geniuses (EG) a taste of their own medicine during their 2-1 series win. However, Riot Games didn’t appreciate their actions and issued a warning to the team.

In a post-match press conference, Paper Rex revealed that they were warned by Riot staff for teabagging EG players throughout the series. F0rsakeN, one of the players, mentioned the mid-game trash talk that surrounded the series.

EG Also Warned for Teabagging and Shooting Corpses

According to reporter George Geddes, EG themselves have also received warnings for teabagging and shooting the corpses of their fallen foes.

EG’s rise to stardom in the VALORANT scene has turned them into the villains of the game. Initially, they were considered as loveable underdogs, but their confidence has led to banter and trash talk, including dismissing Chinese VALORANT compared to NA VALORANT. This rare reaction from Paper Rex, known for their humorous nature, shows that EG managed to get under their skin.

Paper Rex Engages in Trash Talk Despite Riot’s Disapproval

Paper Rex is a team known for having fun while winning games and not engaging in much trash talk. However, during the match against EG, the constant teabagging and shooting of corpses got to them. They responded by trash talking EG, even if Riot didn’t approve.

Details about the warnings issued to EG and Paper Rex are scarce. However, EG faced defeat in the upper bracket final, while Paper Rex moved on to the grand finals. EG now has to beat LOUD to secure a spot in the same finals.

EG will face LOUD today, and the grand finals will determine the winner of VALORANT Champions 2023 on August 26.
