Riot Introduces Hotfix to Enhance Compatibility of Vanguard System with Vulnerable Drivers

Riot Games Releases Hotfix to Address VALORANT Anti-Cheat Issues

In response to player complaints about Vanguard, Riot Games’ new anti-cheat system causing problems with their PCs, the developer has released a hotfix today to resolve some of these issues.

Many users have encountered problems with Vanguard blocking essential programs on their computers, including mouse and keyboard drivers, MSI Afterburner, and video card drivers. This has resulted in PCs being “soft-bricked,” requiring users to boot up in safe mode to fix the issue.

In more extreme cases, some users have experienced a “blue screen of death,” leading many players to uninstall the game and Vanguard from their computer until these issues are fully resolved.

Even players who did not encounter any problems with Vanguard have uninstalled the game due to concerns about potential PC damage. As the game is still in closed beta, it was crucial for Riot to address these issues promptly to prevent losing a significant portion of its player base.

In response to these reports, Riot’s anti-cheat lead, Paul “arkem” Chamberlain, acknowledged that Vanguard’s notification pop-ups need improvement. Riot aims to ensure a smooth gaming experience while also protecting against cheaters.

Players worldwide are hoping that this hotfix will allow them to play VALORANT without concerns about their computer failing to start or crucial processes being blocked.
