Riot Games Anticipates Skipping the Upcoming VALORANT Update Until Approximately December 8

VALORANT Patch 1.12: Minor Tweaks and Bug Fixes

The latest update for VALORANT, Patch 1.12, was released today. This patch mainly focuses on making some minor tweaks to the Observer mode and fixing bugs. However, it seems that the next patch will be delayed, and the developers will resume their regular schedule around December 8th, according to the Patch 1.12 notes. This delay is likely due to the instability of the previous patch, 1.11.

Delay and Bug Fixes

Riot has stated that it’s “very likely” the next patch will be skipped to give them more time to address the issues with Patch 1.11. This decision, along with the release of the minor patch today, aims to improve the overall stability of the game. To learn more about the specific changes in Patch 1.12, you can check out the official Patch Notes here.

The issues with Patch 1.11 were severe enough that Riot decided to roll back the update immediately. Players encountered bugs with the character Sage, micro-stutters, and issues with blinds not working properly. The timing of the release was unfortunate, as professional teams were getting ready for the First Strike Open Qualifier.

To address these issues and ensure the quality of future patches, Riot has decided to take a step back and re-evaluate their approach. They have reverted to Patch 1.10 and are taking additional precautions to prevent similar problems in the future. This indicates that the developers want to ensure the stability of the game before releasing the next update.

Balance Changes and New Additions

Patch 1.11 also introduced some significant balance changes. Killjoy’s Turret and Alarmbot no longer have a global presence, making her better at defending specific sites. Additionally, Cypher’s Trapwire and Spy Camera will now be disabled when the agent dies. The update also included the introduction of a new agent named Skye and a snowy map called Icebox.

Overall, Patch 1.12 focuses on addressing bugs and improving the stability of the game. Although the next patch may be delayed, it’s clear that Riot is prioritizing quality and ensuring a better player experience.
