Riot decreases VALORANT Deathmatch player count amid Patch 4.03 concerns

Riot Games Reduces Number of Players in VALORANT Deathmatch Following Patch 4.03

Riot Games recently released Patch 4.03 for VALORANT, but unfortunately, the update brought negative consequences for the game’s deathmatch mode. To address these issues, the developers have announced that they will be reducing the number of players in each deathmatch lobby.

The Impacts of Patch 4.03 on Deathmatch Mode

Patch 4.03 implemented changes to the deathmatch mode, including the removal and modification of spawn locations that Riot deemed “dangerous.” The update also aimed to improve spawn logic by placing players further away from the area where they died and reducing spawn times.

Unforeseen Problems and Player Spawning

However, these changes unintentionally caused problems for players, such as spawning directly in front of other players. In an effort to address these issues, Riot will be reducing the number of players in the deathmatch mode from 14 to 12.

Riot Games’ Response and Temporary Solution

In a tweet, Riot Games acknowledged the rough experience players had with the deathmatch mode after Patch 4.03. They announced the immediate reduction of players from 14 to 12 to mitigate these problems. The developers will closely monitor the situation. This adjustment is expected to be temporary and will be in effect until further investigation is conducted for a permanent fix.

Although there is currently no specific timeframe for the introduction of a fix, players can still enjoy VALORANT deathmatch matches with slightly fewer players and, hopefully, smoother spawns.
