Riot assures excellent game server quality and framework for global VALORANT players

Riot Games’ VALORANT to Launch with Robust Server Infrastructure

The upcoming first-person shooter game from Riot Games, VALORANT, has players excited about its release later this year. With anticipation building, many are curious about how the developers will handle the surge of players that will come with the game’s official launch.

Fortunately, Riot Games has made server quality and infrastructure a top priority. They have ensured that their servers are powerful enough to handle the expected worldwide player base.

Riot is going above and beyond by implementing 128-tick servers for all players, completely free of charge. This upgrade will automatically adjust the movements of lagging opponents, ensuring a smooth gameplay experience for everyone in the match.

Moreover, Riot has been collaborating with various internet service providers (ISPs) worldwide to establish peering arrangements. These partnerships have enabled players to connect to Riot’s network, known as Riot Direct. With their network now reaching 35 major cities globally, Riot aims to maintain a ping of 35ms or less for at least 70% of players.

This expansive network not only improves connectivity but also allows Riot to address broken routes, alleviate congestion, and add more circuits as needed. These continuous enhancements will enable even more people to join the game without any technical limitations.

All of these efforts are being made to combat a common problem in most first-person shooters: peeker’s advantage. By addressing server and network issues with these measures, Riot Games aims to prevent situations where attacking players can shoot before their opponents can react. This will create a more fair and enjoyable gaming experience for all players.

Stay tuned as Riot Games will be sharing more details about VALORANT in the upcoming weeks leading to its release this summer.
