Reyna’s Abilities Revealed by VALORANT’s Lead Character Designer

VALORANT: New Details Revealed About Upcoming Agent Reyna

In anticipation of VALORANT’s official release on June 2, Ryan “Morello” Scott, lead character designer for the game, recently shared more information about the new agent, Reyna.

According to Scott, Reyna has the potential to be a dominant force, but only if she secures kills. If she fails to get kills, she becomes nearly useless, making her a risky choice for players.

Reyna’s abilities are tied to soul orbs, which she can collect by eliminating opponents. These soul orbs allow her to use two of her abilities, but only for a limited time. It’s worth noting that assists don’t contribute to her soul orb count.

One ability allows Reyna to fully heal herself and even stack up to 50 points of armor when she’s at full health. The other ability makes her temporarily invulnerable, albeit unable to shoot. Both abilities share the same cooldown and must be purchased, along with other abilities, for each round.

Reyna has only a few seconds to pick up the soul orbs before they disappear. Additionally, eliminating opponents resets her ultimate ability, which can enhance her soul orb skills and decrease her firing rate, reload time, and recoil, potentially making her extremely deadly.

Despite her formidable abilities, some players have reservations about Reyna being too strong. Scott acknowledges that while she may be the most powerful duelist agent, choosing to go toe-to-toe with her also carries significant risks.

Unfortunately, there is no further information about Reyna’s blinding ability, such as its range or duration.

VALORANT will be released on June 2, introducing Reyna and a new map showcased in her trailer.
