Revising the Past: 100 Thieves Stages an Impressive Comeback to Sweep The Guard at VCT Challengers 2

100 Thieves Secure Revenge Win Against The Guard in VCT Challengers 2

100 Thieves have started off strong in VCT Challengers 2 with a 2-0 revenge victory over The Guard.

In the previous matchup between 100 Thieves and The Guard during Challengers One, the Thieves had a different roster. The Guard’s dominant 13-0 victory over 100T led to the removal of Hunter “BabyJ” Schline and Adam “ec1s” Eccles from the team within 48 hours.

After two months, 100T’s new roster has successfully shut down The Guard and secured their first win in the group stage of Challengers Two.

The series began with a strong performance by 100T, winning 13-5 on their map pick, Fracture. Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk and Sean “bang” Bezerra were the standout players, with Asuna achieving 20 kills and 11 deaths, and bang maintaining a 40% headshot percentage. On the other hand, The Guard’s Michael “neT” Bernet struggled, only managing three kills and an average combat score of 62.

The Guard selected Bind as the second map, but they continued to struggle against the powerful 100 Thieves lineup. Despite a 6-6 tie at halftime, The Thieves gradually built up their lead, dominating gunfights and preventing The Guard from winning any more rounds in the second half. The map ended 13-6 in favor of 100 Thieves, giving them a clean 2-0 series win.
