Reigning VALORANT world champion excels with Gekko in agent’s VCT Americas debut

LOUD Team Show Confidence in VCT Americas with Gekko

After their recent success in the VALORANT world championship and VCT LOCK//IN grand finals, the LOUD team from Brazil is entering the VCT Americas season with high expectations. They have showcased their confidence by incorporating the game’s newest agent, Gekko, into their compositions.

Gekko’s Impact in LOUD’s Matches

In their match against MIBR, LOUD chose to run with Gekko on both Split and Lotus selections. In-game leader and long-time initiator Matias “Saadhak” Delipetro took charge of Gekko’s abilities. Saadhak, who primarily played initiator during LOUD’s championship run, explored different roles during LOCK//IN. However, for VCT Americas, LOUD made the decision to return to their highly regarded composition on Lotus.

Saadhak’s Playmaking with Gekko

Saadhak’s first appearance with Gekko in VCT Americas showcased his excellent playmaking and space-creating abilities. He demonstrated a clever use of Gekko’s Dizzy/Wingman flash/stun combo. By utilizing both abilities strategically, Saadhak increased the chances of stunning or blinding enemies. He also effectively combined Dizzy with Harbor cascades, making it more challenging for the enemy to destroy the moving water wall. Saadhak’s smart use of Gekko’s utility allowed for easy retrieval and quick post-plant setups for LOUD.

Highlighting Gekko’s Flaws

Despite Saadhak’s impressive performance, a few instances revealed Gekko’s weaknesses. The agent’s globules sometimes took too long to be recollected, giving the opposing team an opportunity to gain a better position or eliminate Saadhak. Additionally, MIBR quickly identified that wherever Saadhak used Gekko’s abilities, LOUD would end up there, prompting faster rotates.

Overall, Saadhak’s display of pro-level Gekko play in VCT Americas has been one of the best examples for VALORANT fans to witness.
