Proof of VALORANT’s Effective High Ping Update Shown by Player’s Perceptions

The VALORANT community celebrates Riot’s successful high-ping fix

The VALORANT community is excited to discover that Riot’s high-ping fix from February is indeed effective. However, this development has resulted in one unhappy player facing backlash from the entire community.

In a since-deleted post on the VALORANT subreddit on Feb. 28, a player shared a video clip demonstrating missed shots, bullets not registering, and instant deaths before they could react. The player was furious as these tactics had been working flawlessly a month prior. They questioned what could be causing the issue.

The wider VALORANT community, however, viewed these deaths as a positive development.

Previously, players with high-ping had the advantage in the Riot Games hero shooter. Due to the ping disparity, players experiencing lag could essentially teleport around corners and score easy kills without consequences.

After the Patch 6.02 update, this trick is no longer possible in VALORANT, leaving this disgruntled player unaware of the change.

Finally, this player is now aware of the update. The community swarmed the post, criticizing the high-ping abuser. This collective frustration arose from countless frustrating gaming experiences against opponents with extremely high pings.

One player suggested that this update might be an opportunity for the complaining player to improve their discipline and gunfight skills. Others highlighted the OP’s ping, which was around 167, as a prime example of why the fix was necessary.

The early February patch for VALORANT has proved to be highly effective, particularly in tackling high-ping abusers. The community has already started to notice a significant difference.
