The latest addition to the VALORANT map pool is Lotus, a beautiful location carved out of Indian rockface with stunning architecture. This three-site map features rotating doors and a destructible connector.

For the first week of Patch 6.0, Lotus will only be playable in Swiftplay mode. After that, it will be added to the competitive and unrated map rotation in Patch 6.1.

Split is back with some changes

After some time away, Split returns with some significant tweaks. Here are the highlights:

  • A main, the opening area for attackers, has been widened and given a small ledge.
  • The A rafters area no longer allows players to hold the high-up angle in the corner.
  • In Mid, players can now silently drop down from Mid platform. The “trick-jump” onto Mid box has been removed.
  • In B Tower, the Defender side jump-up box has been removed.

Competitive updates

Here are the changes being made to the competitive queue in Patch 6.0:

  • With the new episode, there will be a rank reset. After your placement matches, expect a slightly lower rank than the one you ended Episode Five with.
  • Ranked Rating gains/losses will depend slightly more on wins and losses, and slightly less on the round differential.
  • If your rank is far from your MMR, RR gains will depend more on individual performance rather than round differential. Your rank and MMR should converge faster as well.

All other changes

Here is the list of other changes in Patch 6.0:

  • Breeze and Bind have been removed from the competitive and unrated queue.
  • Omen’s Dark Cover ability will now fall to the height of nearby ground if placed inside a wall.
  • You can now select specific variants of your gun skins as favorites.
  • The way guns process zoom inputs for ADS and Scopes has been reworked when using toggle zoom.
