Potential Timeline Shift for First Major VALORANT Offseason Event

100 Thieves Invited to Red Bull Home Ground Tournament

After the first VCT season of the partnership era, many VALORANT teams have a long offseason ahead. However, some teams, like 100 Thieves, have been invited to compete in the official OFF//SEASON events, which means roster changes could happen sooner than expected.

100 Thieves has been named as the first team to receive an invitation to the Red Bull Home Ground tournament in Tokyo this November. The team missed out on the opportunity to go to Tokyo earlier this year due to a late-season slump and a loss to MIBR in the final week of VCT Americas.

The 100T roster attending the Red Bull Home Ground tournament might not be the same as the one that competed during the VCT Americas season. General manager Daniel “ddk” Kapadia and the organization recently parted ways, leading to speculation of roster changes following the management change.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see 100 Thieves start over again, considering how successful their previous rebuild was. The team is reportedly looking to scale back player salaries next year, which could align with potential roster moves.

As the defending champions of the Red Bull Home Ground tournament, 100T’s dominant performance last year raised expectations for the team. However, it’s important to note that last year’s event took place on a patch that didn’t reflect the upcoming meta shift away from Chamber.

Given that this could be the only event where tier-one teams compete before VCT 2024 starts, teams like 100 Thieves, Cloud9, Team Heretics, and Vitality have a good reason to consider making changes.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Red Bull Home Ground tournament and potential roster changes among the participating teams!
