Potential New Duelist Meta Emerges in VALORANT Patch 7.04 Post Extensive Agent Nerfs

Valorant Patch 7.04: Jett Nerfs Shake Up the Meta

Players of Valorant are reacting strongly to the latest game update, Patch 7.04, which brings significant changes to the agent list. These adjustments have the potential to shift the meta, particularly for players who rely on Jett as their go-to agent on most maps.

The patch notes reveal that Jett, the fast-moving duelist, is receiving several nerfs. Her Tailwind dash and Cloudburst smoke will be weakened. Additionally, she will have one less Updraft ability and her ultimate ability, Blade Storm, will require an extra point to activate. These changes effectively remove her from the meta, forcing players to consider other agents instead.

With Jett’s decline, many players have quickly crowned Raze as the new favored duelist, especially since she is the second most-played agent in that role among high elo players. However, some players anticipate the return of a once-forgotten king: Chamber.

Before the nerfs, Chamber was the strongest agent in the game and one of the most-played in almost every rank. While he isn’t as powerful as before, the buffs he received in May could help him find a place in the current meta with Jett’s absence.

While Raze becomes the obvious choice for entry fraggers, Chamber could be an easy solution for players who frequently use the Operator. His Rendezvous ability is ideal for holding aggressive angles, allowing players to quickly eliminate enemies before teleporting to safety or to another angle for another kill.

In fact, we may see an increase in double sentinel compositions with Chamber as the main Operator user for strong defenses, while other duelists could also see more usage soon.
