Possible Los Angeles Map Teased in Latest VALORANT Teaser, Coinciding with Champions 2023 Final

Riot Games Teases New Map in VALORANT’s Next Episode Act

Riot Games has released a teaser for the upcoming episode act in VALORANT, hinting at the introduction of new lore and potentially a new map set in Los Angeles.

In the teaser, the newest agent Deadlock and Cypher meet in a security van to review footage of Kingdom Laboratories. As Deadlock approaches the van, she walks through an urban environment with palm trees and hills, resembling the iconic LA landscape.

Upon closer inspection, Cypher’s screen shows a map that perfectly matches the southern coast of Los Angeles, even including the Port of Long Beach. The marked spot on the map aligns with the intersection of the I-5 and I-605 highways in real-life LA.

Other clues suggest the new map will indeed be set in Los Angeles. The current Episode Seven, Act One battle pass features the Golden Hour player card, which showcases the sunny atmosphere and palm trees associated with LA. Riot has used player cards in previous acts to tease new maps, as seen with Pearl and Lotus.

The teaser also hints at a significant date: August 26. This date coincides with the VALORANT Champions 2023 finals, happening in Los Angeles. As the current VCT season concludes with the finals and Episode Seven, Act One comes to an end, it’s possible that Riot will unveil the new map during this grand event.
