Poised refuses to let a five-year injury hinder his VALORANT career’s progress

Overcoming Adversity: The Inspiring Story of POISED in VALORANT

Becoming a professional esports player requires exceptional gaming skills and the ability to compete with the best. In the world of VALORANT, where mechanics and movement are crucial, Kevin “POISED” Ngo has achieved incredible success despite facing a major challenge.

POISED currently serves as the IGL for FaZe’s VALORANT roster and has consistently pushed multiple teams to the top five in the North American scene. However, in a heartfelt Twitlonger post on January 19, he revealed that he has been playing without feeling in his fingertips and palm for the past five years.

POISED’s journey began with a freak accident that resulted in severe damage to his forearm, completely cutting through muscles and nerves. This incident led to years of recovery, during which he had no feeling in his hand. He underwent intense physical therapy for two years until he regained movement, but still couldn’t regain sensation.

Despite the challenges, POISED remained determined. He focused on improving his spatial cognitive ability in-game, which ultimately propelled him to success. This serves as an inspiration to aspiring esports professionals, showing that there are alternative paths to achieving greatness.

Although POISED is slowly regaining feeling in some areas, the sensation in his palms and fingertips has yet to fully return. Nevertheless, his perseverance and dedication have propelled him to achievements in the competitive VALORANT scene.

Throughout his VALORANT journey, POISED has come agonizingly close to major victories. Under his guidance, FaZe’s VALORANT roster secured a third-place finish in the Champions Tour North America: Last Chance Qualifier. They narrowly missed out on qualifying for VALORANT Champions 2022, falling short to The Guard in a heartbreaking defeat.

During his time with Rise, POISED made significant progress towards qualifying for the VALORANT Challengers in 2021, only to be stopped in his tracks by the Cloud9 Blue roster, who went on to participate in the playoffs at VALORANT Champions 2021.

POISED’s determination remains unwavering as he sets his sights on surpassing his past accomplishments. He concluded his revelation by issuing a warning to his VALORANT rivals, declaring that “FaZe is coming to win Ascension.”
