Pick Rate of a Former Meta-Defining Agent Plummets to All-Time Low in Professional VALORANT

The Decline of Chamber in Competitive VALORANT

Last year, Chamber was one of the most feared agents in competitive VALORANT play. With powerful abilities and utility, he was able to effectively counter enemy team compositions. However, in recent patches, Chamber has fallen out of favor on the professional stage.

Currently, Chamber has the lowest pick rate in his history. He has only been chosen in two games in VCT Americas and hasn’t been picked at all in the Pacific or EMEA stages, according to pro VALORANT stats aggregate The Spike.

Professional players are now avoiding Chamber due to the nerfs he received last year. These nerfs reduced his Trademark charges, ultimate ability costs, ability slows, and his Rendezvous teleport range.

As a result, Chamber is now slower to rotate to other areas and less effective in save rounds and eco rounds due to increased costs. The nerf to his Trademark range also hinders his ability to cover flanks and choke points. Meanwhile, agents like Jett and Killjoy have seen increased usage, pushing Chamber to the sidelines.

Some former Chamber enthusiasts believe that slight cost reductions and a Trademark range increase could be a good way to buff the agent without making him overpowered. However, in his current state, he cannot compete with other agents who possess stronger and more impactful abilities.

Riot has not indicated any plans to make changes to Chamber in the near future. Fans of the agent will have to wait and see if he can regain his relevance in the competitive scene.
