VALORANT players exploit ‘Pay-to-win’ Mystbloom skin for wallhack advantage

The Unintended Wall-Hack Bug in VALORANT’s Mystbloom Skin Collection

Riot Games, despite its efforts to keep VALORANT free from pay-to-win elements, inadvertently introduced a bug in the latest Mystbloom skin collection that allows players to see enemies through walls.

Players Discover the Wall-Hack Bug

Community members noticed the bug while spectating the Mystbloom Sheriff or Operator weapons in VALORANT. By aiming at an enemy through a barrier at a specific angle, a colored silhouette of the enemy becomes visible through the wall.

Controversy Surrounding the Pay-to-Win Aspect

Players quickly labeled the Mystbloom collection as pay-to-win, contradicting Riot’s stance on maintaining a fair playing field with skins in VALORANT.

Although replicating the bug in competitive matches is challenging, using it to wall-bang opponents near walls can provide an unfair advantage in certain situations. However, exploiting this bug may result in your account being reported and penalized.

Response and Potential Future Features

The lead producer for cosmetic content in VALORANT, Preeti Khanolkar, assured the community that the bug would be patched soon after it gained attention.

Despite its unintended nature, some players appreciated the unique silhouette effect of the Mystbloom collection and suggested it could be developed into a legitimate feature in the future.

Despite the bug, the Mystbloom skin collection remains available for purchase in the VALORANT store.
