Oxygen Esports unveils VALORANT academy team lineup

Oxygen Esports Introduces Valorant Academy Roster with Young Streamer Reduxx

North American organization Oxygen Esports announced the addition of its academy Valorant lineup today, with streamer Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulalazm joining the roster.

The rest of the “ex-FLICKBAITERS” roster, which includes Leandro “Virtyy” Moreno, James “Nurfed” McFadden, Rustun Lusk, and Andrew “Verno” Maust, along with coach Alan “wrap” Shen, have also signed with the organization.

Ex-FLICKBAITERS Team Yet to Compete in Valorant Champions Tour

The ex-FLICKBAITERS team has played at the semi-professional level but has yet to participate in the Valorant Champions Tour. They recently competed in the Nerd Street Gamers Winter Championship – Open 15, finishing in second place while Built by Gamers Academy took first.

“With just little practice you can see we have pretty decent results with taking a map off LG and qualifying for the NSG $25k upcoming in early February,” said Reduxx. “With practice, offline time, etc., I personally expect great things from this team in the foreseeable future.”

Youthful Talent Shines in Tournament

Although many professional teams did not compete in the tournament due to the VCT Challengers One open qualifier, which began yesterday, there were no upsets on day one. However, several teams may be eliminated as the lower bracket begins tonight.

Ex-FLICKBAITERS finished in second place after losing to Built by Gamers Academy in the grand final. Despite being only 14 years old and unable to compete in the VCT due to the minimum age requirement of 16, Reduxx had the highest average combat score and highest average damage per round of all players in the finals.

High Hopes for Young Roster

Oxygen Esports has high expectations for this young roster. In a statement, the organization said, “While Reduxx has been with OXG since inception, we are thrilled to welcome our newest members as they chart their course to being the best academy team in North America this year and aim to become VCT champions in the future.”

Update Jan. 28 2:14pm CT: This article has been updated to include a statement from Reduxx.
