Overwatch League Pro SoOn Set to Join VALORANT Esports

OWL Star SoOn Makes Switch to VALORANT

Terence “SoOn” Tarlier, a highly skilled DPS player, has announced his move from Overwatch to Riot’s tactical shooter, VALORANT. SoOn, who previously played for teams like Rogue, the L.A. Valiant, the Paris Eternal, Misfits, and Team France, recently left the Overwatch League’s Boston Uprising. He is now set to continue his professional career in the world of VALORANT.

Transition to a New Challenge

In a TwitLonger post, SoOn expressed his desire to continue competing and start a new career. He said, “Like I said before, I still want to compete. I’ve thus decided to go into VALORANT in order to, I hope, start a new career.”

A Vast Transition

SoOn’s departure marks another Overwatch player joining the growing number of professionals transitioning to VALORANT. Notably, FaZe Clan, one of North America’s leading teams, is comprised mainly of former OWL stars. T1 also made waves by acquiring Lee “ANS” Seon-Chang, one of Overwatch’s most talented DPS players.

The Potential for Success

Despite not achieving the same level of success as he did with pre-OWL Rogue, SoOn’s longevity in the Overwatch scene is commendable. With the COVID-19 pandemic limiting LAN competitions, SoOn has a chance to shine in the wide-open field of VALORANT. Former Overwatch DPS players have already proven their worth in Riot’s new title, and given time, SoOn could be the next breakout star.
